[Game lore] 8 is King!

It is saturday, 10th of september 1994. The Eight - the leading raider group in Stuttwald are in town. 8 is king - they shout whenever they come to your hole in the ground, demanding ransom from you, stealing your every remaining bullet and food piece, even the rats go hungry. How do they expect us to live like this, why is noone doing anything against them? Does the Verbannte even know about scum like us? Are they protecting the reactor or us? They came to my bunker yesterday, took my last pack of 9mm bullets i had stashed away. I hoped they would not find it but they brought a damn metal detector with them. How the hell do they power them? I thought the reactor took out all energy sources? I know the Verbannte have some kind of power source for their energy weapons but wasnt east Stuttwald already picked clean by the Verbannte for anything of value? I guess you can never know what youll find if you keep searching. Buildings crumble around us as the cold autumn weather damages all the remains around us. My bunker was cleaned by the Eight but i live to see another day.
