[Game lore] A fresh beginning

It is friday, 9th of september 1994. The sun is shining but its cold. Autumn is here. This is the time of the year when the beasts get wild because less fools come from the east for the beasts to feed on. I step out of the bunker for a breath of air, i'm lucky the air is clean in this part of the city, i can't imagine what the bastards are going through in west Stuttwald, i bet they won't even survive until sundown, i just heard another guy got dragged underground an hour ago. The barriers in the city center are strong but how long will the Verbantte keep it up? It's as if the damn beasts are called by the reactor to it and our damn city just happens to be in their way. Why won't they go through the south forest or the north-east radiation patch? No idea, doesn't matter to me. I've got trouble with the Eight again, they robbed me blind last month and now theyre back again to ask for "payment for protection", as if we already aren't protected by the Verbannte. Oh well, beats being thrown out to the wasteland.
